Individuals with Down syndrome and their families face many challenging issues. These issues include but are not limited to health, education, socialization, employment, and independent living. Professional and personal support is often needed to fully contend with these fundamental and critical issues. The Centre du syndrome de Down
supports individuals with Down syndrome, their families, and the professionals who work with them, to promote awareness and understanding of these issues.
The mission of the Centre du syndrome de Down
isto provide parent-to-parent and professional services and support to individuals with Down syndrome and their families and to educate the broader community on Down syndrome. The services and support are provided to enable individuals with Down syndrome the opportunity to reach their fullest potential and to become fully included members of their communities.
The DSAHRC is a not-for-profit organization, incorporated in the State of New York, with an all-volunteer Board of Directors, modern office space, and a staff that includes an Executive Director, a Program Development Coordinator and an Administrative Assistant to provide support and services to people with Down syndrome, their families, and the professionals (physicians, teachers) involved in their care.
