To celebrate this special anniversary, this year's Buddy Walk will be a
Fall Festival!

It will be a fun-filled day for everyone!
Our Theme this year is
Recognizing the Achievements of All Individuals with Down Syndrome!

We thank our community for your support of the Capital Region Buddy Walk for the last 20 years and also for your support of the Centre du syndrome de Down !

From my very first contact with the DSAHRC, I knew we were in good hands. Having the support and knowledge has been a tremendous help in navigating through this journey. Namita has been there to listen, offer advice and advocate with me at school district meetings. Some of my best friends are other moms from this wonderful community. The DSAHRC has been an incredible source of strength to our family since the birth of our son Oliver. We were contacted and welcomed into the local Down syndrome community almost immediately after his diagnosis. They were extremely supportive during our adoption of our son Oscar who also has Down syndrome and was orphaned in China after his birth. The DSAHRC has been extremely helpful while we navigated our way out of early intervention and into the preschool world. They were always available to answer questions and offer support and advocate for us on the spot. As we transition from pre-k to kindergarten they were able to offer one on one advice and support in regards to each of our sons individual education plans and helped us to come up with appropriate goals to help them be as successful as possible. It's amazing to have the support and guidance of professionals who understand the challenges that we face on a day to day basis and it's empowering to know that they have our best interest in mind always. – Caroline Stallmer
